A more efficient way of practicing harmony and technique.
- learn to play chords in all inversions
- improve your harmonic fluency
- expand your vocabulary and ultimately improvise with greater comfort and ease
A common problem for string players is mastering harmony on bowed string instruments.
To overcome this block, I prescribe studying chords, arpeggios, and accompanying scales in specific ways. I laid this out clearly for you in the forward of the arpeggios workbook. The workbook then lays out all arpeggios in all keys and all clefs (cello, viola, violin) in three forms:
1) Root position
2) Extended range
3) All inversions in the extended range
Arpeggios are written out in all twelve keys for violin, viola, and cello in extended range within first position.
- master common 7th chords in all inversions in all keys
- learn to practice harmonic material more effectively
- build a solid foundation for improvising in many common musical styles, including jazz
